333. The Children’s Republic

November 29, 2011

Last summer, Now magazine called Hannah Moscovitch “Canada’s most in-demand playwright.” See what all the fuss is about tonight as her play, The Children’s Republic, is staged at the Tarragon Theatre. The production follows Dr. Janusz Korczak, “revolutionary champion of children and signatory to the Leage of Nations’ Declaration of the Rights of the Child, [who] meets his match in a defiant boy named Israel. When war threatens the children in Korczak’s Warsaw orphanage, it is Israel who comes to the rescue.”
